Negotiations, Israeli – Palestinian Conflict, and International Politics
Prof. Galia Golan is a Professor of Government and Chair of the Program for Diplomatic Studies and Conflict Analysis at the School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy in the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya (IDC), and a Professor Emerita of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Prof. Golan is a board member of the 'Meretz' party. Prof. Golan founded the "Lafer Center for Women's and Gender Studies" as well as the "Marjorie Mayrock Center for Russian, Euro-Asian and East-European Research", both in the Hebrew University. Prof. Golan is also a member of the "European Pugwash Council". A board member and a dedicated activist in the “Peace Now" and at "Bat Shalom", and in the International Women's Commission for a Just Israeli-Palestinian Peace. Prof. Golan won the "Women in Leadership" prize of the New Israel Fund (1995), the "Activism Award" in the Glicksman Foundation (1999), and the "Israel Society for Political Science" Prize for her contribution to the field (2006).
