Sarah Feuer

Dr. Sarah J. Feuer is a research fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies, and a Senior (Non-Resident) Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. She is the author of Regulating Islam: Religion and the State in Contemporary Morocco and Tunisia (Cambridge, 2018), as well as numerous policy papers and monographs. At INSS Feuer is developing a research program examining region-wide developments across the Arab Middle East, and continuing to track political and security-related developments in North Africa. Feuer holds a PhD in politics from Brandeis University's Crown Center for Middle East Studies, an MA in Middle Eastern history from Tel Aviv University, and a BA in American history and French literature from the University of Pennsylvania. She has extensive experience throughout the region, including stints living in Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, and Israel.
