Prof. Tamar Hermann is the Academic Director of the Guttmann Center for Public Opinion and Policy Research.
She is also a faculty member of the Political Science Department at the Open University of Israel.
Professor Tamar Hermann has co-edited the monthly Peace Index (with Professor Ephraim Ya’ar) since 1994, and has edited the annual Israeli Democracy Index since 2010. She taught at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University, and was a guest lecturer at Princeton University, Queen’s University in Belfast, and the WZB Berlin Social Science Center.
Her research focuses on Israeli public opinion, specifically as it pertains to issues related to national security and Israel's socio-economic agenda.
Her latest books, The National-Religious Sector in Israel 2014 , Israeli Democracy Index of 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as the new publication, A Conditional Partnership: Jews and Arabs, Israel 2017, were published by the Israel Democracy Institute, Jerusalem.
Her book-length manuscript Walking the Israel National trail recently won the Haifa University Publishing House Bahat Prize for the Best Academic book of 2017.
