Brigadier General (Ret.) Amira Dotan has dedicated her career to public service in Israel and to relations between Israel and the Diaspora.
Brigadier General Dotan, the first woman to attain the rank of Brigadier General, is consistently driven by personal initiative and a belief in bridging divides among people, utilizing pioneering strategies in consensus building.
As a member of the 17th Knesset (2006-2009) representing the Kadima party, she initiated and advanced the legislation of the National Security Council Law, as well as a law requiring the examination of all proposed legislation through a gender impact lens.
In 1995, she founded the "Forum of Career Women in the Middle East," which included businesswomen from the region.
In 1998, she initiated, founded, and continues to manage, alongside her partner, retired Chief Superintendent Hanaa Kozer Sapir, the "Naveh Tzedek Mediation Center," specializing in conflict resolution.
