Amit Cohen is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Political Sciences and a fellow researcher at the Political Psychology Lab at the University of Haifa, as well as a researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). Her research examines how modern democracies cope with terrorism and hybrid security threats, including cyber conflict, with a focus on counterterrorism policy, cyber instruments, and diplomatic tools. Her work centers on the psychological and political mechanisms that shape public attitudes toward government, national security, and foreign policy, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, advanced research technologies, and comparative approaches. Alongside her academic work, Amit serves as the head of a cyber-attack investigation team, where she works to protect organizations from external threats and analyzes real-world cyber operations, allowing her to bridge theoretical research with operational security realities. Amit is an award-winning young researcher and has received several distinctions, including the Rector’s Award for Advanced Studies at the University of Haifa, the 2023 Outstanding Thesis Award from the Israeli Political Science Association, and the Bloom Scholarship for outstanding Ph.D. students.
