Prof. Dafna Richmond-Barak joined Reichman University (IDC) in 2009. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy, and Strategy and Head of the Desk for International Humanitarian Law at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT). She holds a PhD from Tel Aviv University, an LL.M. from Yale, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Oxford (Diploma in Legal Studies) and Paris II University in France (LL.B.).


Before joining the Interdisciplinary Center, Prof. Richmond-Barak interned at the International Court in The Hague and worked as an attorney at Cleary Gottlieb in New York. Over the years, she has served as a legal advisor to countries and non-governmental organizations on a range of issues related to international relations.


She is interested in the security and legal implications of new and recurring phenomena on the modern battlefield, such as the Iron Dome, tunnels, and the use of artificial intelligence.


In addition to her book on subterranean warfare, published by Oxford University Press in 2018, her book on the International Court was published by Brill in 2021.
