Dr. Michal Zelcer-Lavid is a researcher and lecturer in the Department of Asian Studies at Bar-Ilan University, specializing in contemporary China, minorities, and ethnic conflicts in Asia. Her research focuses on the connections between politics, identity, security, and culture, with an emphasis on western China, the Uyghur and Tibetan minorities, and the geopolitical implications of regional stability in China and Central Asia.
In addition to these studies, Dr. Zeltser-Levid deals with China's relations with the Middle East and Israel's place in the broader Asian sphere. She analyzes China's growing involvement in the region, its relations with Israel, and its impact on the international balance of power and regional security.
