Miri Izin served in the Israeli Intelligence Corps for over 20 years. She was discharged from the IDF with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2005. During her service, she held diverse and groundbreaking roles for women in the Intelligence Corps' research and field organization.
During the Second Lebanon War, Miri was appointed government spokesperson for foreign media, and later advisor to the Prime Minister for foreign media.
Miri is a global expert in the field of security and intelligence, a commentator on global media, and a lecturer in Israel and internationally. She teaches at a school of government and is a senior fellow at the Institute for Counterterrorism Policy at Reichman University.
