Adv. Sarah Weiss Ma'udi is Israel's second-ever Special Envoy for Women, Peace and Security (UN Security Council Resolution 1325). In parallel, she heads Israel’s Interagency Task Force on Sanctions within the Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Weiss Ma'udi founded the MFA Women in Diplomacy Network and continues to serve on its Board. She has held several senior diplomatic and legal positions, including Senior Adviser and Deputy Team Leader for the 77th President of the U.N. General Assembly, Legal Adviser and Counterterrorism and Sanctions Expert at Israel’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, and Director of the International Law Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier in her career, she worked at the Ministry of Justice and conducted comparative legal research for Justice Dorit Beinisch at the Israel Supreme Court.

Weiss Ma'udi is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, holds a Master’s Degree in Regional Studies of the Middle East from Harvard University, and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
