Dr. Shlomit Wagman has held dual leadership roles in the Israeli government: she has been serving as the head of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terror Financing Authority, as well as the National Financial Intelligence Unit since 2016. Additionally, she has acted as the head of the Privacy Protection Authority since March 2019.

Dr. Wagman earned her Ph.D. and Master's degree from Yale Law School in the United States and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Law and Business Administration (with honors) from the Hebrew University. She completed her legal internship under President Aharon Barak at the Supreme Court of Israel.

With a strong academic background, Dr. Wagman has lectured as an adjunct professor at Tel Aviv University, Bar-Ilan University, and the Interdisciplinary Center, focusing on public policy and technology. She has also served as a research fellow at the Yale Information Society Project.

Recognized globally for her expertise, Dr. Wagman is notably the first Israeli to be appointed to key leadership positions within the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
