Ambassador Simona Halperin is a senior diplomat in the Foreign Service, Deputy Director-General for Europe since November 2025.  

Among her previous positions - Israeli Ambassador to Russia from 2023-2025, Deputy Director-General for Eurasia, Israeli Ambassador to Singapore and Head of the Israeli Representation in Taiwan, Director of the Department of Human Rights and International Organizations (between 2006-2010).  

Ambassador Simona Halperin joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995, and among her diplomatic positions abroad she represented Israel in the delegation to the European Union in Brussels (as an adviser to the European Parliament), and served as Deputy Ambassador in South Korea and Kazakhstan.  

Simona holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Haifa, as part of the Academic Reserve Program (and military service as an Economics and Budget Officer at the IDF Leadership Development School), a master's degree in Public Policy and Law from the Hebrew University (with distinction), and an additional master's degree in National Security and Strategy Studies through the National Security College and the University of Haifa..
