Dr. Sharona Mazalian Levi holds a doctorate from Tel Aviv University on the topic of "Indoctrination in newspapers for children and youth in the first decade of the Islamic revolution as a tool to consolidate the new regime in Iran."


She is a visiting researcher at the Alliance Center for Iranian Studies at Tel Aviv University.


Dr. Mazalian Levi holds a master's degree in Middle Eastern studies with honors and a bachelor's degree in political science and the Middle East in an honors research track, both from Tel Aviv University. For her undergraduate and graduate studies, she served as a research assistant at the Alliance Center for Iranian Studies at the university.


Between 2012-2018, she taught undergraduate and graduate students at Reichman University in Public Relations and Political Communication within the school of government, diplomacy and strategy and in the political marketing program. Meanwhile, she initiated and conducted with others the preparation workshops for the new Knesset members of the 19th and the 20th Knesset at Reichman University.


Dr. Mazalian Levi has over 24 years of rich experience in the world of speaking and media, which began with her recruitment to the IDF Spokesperson unit in August 2000 on the eve of the Second Intifada. In the military she served in the field of public relations in front of government officials, public figures and Jewish organizations from Israel and the world. Later, she served as the head of the Europe, Africa and Asia desk in the International Communications Branch. Finally, she commanded several courses and served as the training officer of the IDF Spokesperson's Division.


Between February 2008 and October 2011, she was appointed as the spokesperson for MK Dr. Yuval Steinitz. Initially, when he was a member of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, and then, a year and two months later, as a communication consultant to the Minister of Finance.


Between November 2011 and March 2018, she served as the spokesperson of the Israel Securities Authority and in charge of financial education. In this position, she was a member of the International Financial Committee of the International Securities Organization (IOSCO) and was one of the initiators and formulates the code of ethics for government spokespersons.


Dr. Mazalian Levi has been serving as the Spokesperson of Bank Hapoalim since June 2018.
